Solar Global Invest (SGI) is a full service developer of photovoltaic power plants. SGI has registered offices in The Netherlands, Italy, Spain, France and Luxembourg and develops solar activities internationally, amongst others in Belgium, France and Italy.

SGI delivers full project management capabilities during the development, construction and exploitation phases of a solar plant. Building on the company’s expertise and experience in solar engineering, excellent contacts with government agencies and top class business partners, SGI delivers low risk solar projects with a solid return. To date SGI has realized 40 MWp in different photovoltaic projects across Europe.

Green Energy

Climate change has a great impact on humans and nature. Consequently politicians agree that greenhouse gas emissions should drop going forward and are bringing forward legislation to curtail the emission of CO2.

The use of green energy is necessary to achieve that objective. SGI is proud to make a positive contribution to our environment with the solar programs that it originates. Next to offering investors a solid return for a prolonged period of time, SGI’s solar projects benefit society as a whole.

Solid Returns

In order to stimulate the development of solar plants, European governments often guarantee feed-in tariffs over prolonged periods of time (up to 20 years) for the delivery of solar generated electricity to the power grid. From an investment perspective this stimulus translates into very stable, easy to forecast, cash flows that are guaranteed by law.

Depending on the jurisdiction and the characteristics of the plot, these rock solid cash flows result in very attractive returns on investment. SGI has developed industry-leading financial models that make the key value drivers of a given photovoltaic project explicit and lead to substantiated and realistic forecasts of a project’s profitability during its life span.

Project Management

SGI manages if desired all necessary activities throughout the life cycle of the project in cooperation with specialized local partners. Alternatively, SGI manages the process until plant completion, i.e. actual connection to the grid.

During the development phase of the project SGI will ensure that all required permits, contracts and other documents are in place before commencing construction. SGI consequently manages the construction phase by determining the configuration of the installation using only components of top-notch suppliers and contracting an EPC partner. SGI has developed one of the most extensive and effective proprietary EPC contracts in the industry to minimize risks for the investor and developer. Finally, once the solar plant is up and running in the exploitation phase, SGI will take care of organizing the operation and maintenance of the project if so desired.

Risk Management

SGI distinguishes four classes of key threats that combined entail over 70% of a solar project’s risk. SGI identifies these risks and formulates a strategy for mitigation.

Development risks, the possibility that permits and contracts are not delivered on time, are either transferred to a development partner or mitigated via SGI’s expertise and experience in a local market. Performance risks, potential performance losses and incorrect revenue estimates, are reduced through proven component selection, specialized electrical engineering and bankable irradiation estimates. Exploitation risks, such as security risks and risks of nature, are insured. Legal risks, adverse changes in legislation and energy policy, are minimized by choosing the right combination of jurisdiction and macro economic trends.
